The main entrance to this cemetery is located off Perry Street in the City of Johnstown, near (opposite) Washington Street. This recording was taken in 1979 by Fulton County Historian, Lewis Decker and was part of the funding project mentioned in the cemetery introduction on the previous page.
Mr. Decker notes: "We tried to follow as closely as possible the cemetery Association maps, but remember these are our own drawings to correspond with our field research and records should not be construed as copies of the original owned by the cemetery association. Any disputed information lot locations or recorded burials should be referred to the Cemetery Association records and maps....."
This is a LARGE cemetery - the book is about 500 pages, give or take. In pursuing the goal of posting this listing online, please be patient. It will take a while. It was sent to us by James Morrison, archivist for the Johnstown Historical Society, and pages through Section N were typed by a dedicated volunteer, Jo Dee Frasco.
Volunteer Linda Jasztal, who has transcribed much of our cemetery data, finished this rather lengthy cemetery. This is a wonderful aide to researchers. It is great to have cemetery recordings, however, Lewis Decker, plotted each section so one could easily find the stones.
