Three Miller Boys
of Bleecker

Three Miller boys from Bleecker died in
the Civil War.
John M. Miller,
was in
the 153rd NY Vol. Regiment and died at age 30 on Aug. 14, 1864 and is buried
in Washington D.C. Andrew Miller, brother of John M.,
was in the 64th Regiment (NY Vol. INF?) was
only 15 years old when he was killed in Alexandria, Virginia on Nov. 6,
1864. His friends sent his body home for burial and he is buried in
Bleecker. These two boys were born in Germany and were the sons of
Christopher Miller.
Their cousin John Miller,
also born in Germany and a
resident of Bleecker, was the son of Jacob Miller. John was in the 2nd Regiment
(NY? ) and died on May 31, 1864 in New Orleans and is buried there.
In the 1860 census of Bleecker the Miller boys were listed with their
respective families:
