Reference(s) to Kittie Cleveland and D. D. Crouse:

The following information can be found in the May 7, 1886 copy of the Broadalbin Herald:   "Kittie, the beloved wife of Supervisor, D. D. Crouse of this town, died at her late residence Saturday night, of consumption, after a long and painful illness.  She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and three children, two sons and a daughter, the youngest about 3 months old.  The funeral will be held today at 3:30 PM from the house.  The name of the deceased before marriage was Kittie Cleveland, and she leaves two brothers, William and Wallace".

In the D. A. R. Cemetery records, In the listing of Broadalbin M. E. Church transcriptions, Vol. 29, on page 267:  The Marriage of David D. Crouse, School Commissioner, and Kittie L. Cleveland, both of Broadalbin, NY, were married by the Rev. S. W. Clemens on July 22, 1879.

From the Broadalbin Town Historian:  D. D. Crouse was named David Deerfield Crouse, was b. 1843 at Kringsbush, N.Y. His first wife was Catherine Louise Cleveland, b. 1857 at Broadalbin, NY.
