St. John's Lutheran Cemetery
Town of Bleecker

(listed alphabetically)

This cemetery is situated along the north side of the Main Highway through the town, (Highway #112).  It is located opposite what is now called the Bleecker Community Church.  The cemetery is designated with a large sign near the highway.

This cemetery was in good care at the time of our recording.  There was evidence of several grave sites marked with fieldstones or not marked at all.

Recorded August 1978 through the Fulton County C. E .T. A. Cemetery Recording Project.

Note:  The following grave stone inscriptions were recorded by Dr. Robert M. Palmer, our Fulton County Historian, in the summer of 1946.  In comparison with our 1978 field recordings we no longer found evidence of these grave markers in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.  We have included them for you to complete this cemetery recording.

1) Shutts, Margareta Boss, wife of Christian Shutts, b. 22 August 1850, d. 14 Oct 1911

2) Zerfus, Johann Wilhelm, b. 14 Apr 1873, d. 1 May 1874, "Oh Leibe Eltren, Trastet Euch. Le Bin Ja Non In Gottes Reich.".  Interpretation: "Oh Dear Parents Weep Not for Me, I am Now in God's Kingdom"
