near Lassellsville, About 2 miles east of Christman Schoolhouse
This cemetery has been previously listed as the "Unknown Cemetery", and until recently, we knew very little. However, Stephan Dennie writes in, "The description of the unknown cemetery, sounds like it might be the "Watrous burying ground near the schoolhouse in the Christman District about 2 miles east from Lassellsville" named after Samuel Watrous an early settler. This is in Fulton County a pictorial history by Lewis Decker on Pg. 176 (in the lower right column)." Thank you Stephan for helping us out!
This cemetery transcript was obtained and typed by volunteer Jill Collins. She writes: I am researching the ancestry and descendants of the following lines: Henry King & his wife Martha Sweet who were early inhabitants of the town of Northampton; Willard Stowell & his wife Alida Vedder of Oppenheim; Albert Gifford & wife Lucy Blowers. Also searching for the missing parents of Harriet J. Gifford b. Jan. 22, 1854 who was the wife of Marcus A. King of Northville.
Copied 1933 by Mrs. J.V.W. Miller & Mrs. William Mullins.
