Porter/Sweet/Warner Cemetery


The following information was donated by Gail Cramer, Northampton Historian.   This cemetery is located on the property owned by Mrs. B. A. Winnie in 1960.  Gail notes that there were many more burials there, but only six head stones survive.  There are many unidentified field stones indicating other graves.

 

    Catherine, wife of S.P. SWEET
    died Feb. 11, 1873
    ae 69 yrs. 5 mo. & 26 days  

    Electa, wife of Alanson WARNER
    died Aug. 15, 1854
    ae 46 yrs. 1 mo. & 6 days

  Note: site visitor Lee Garlock writes:
Electra Warner was the daughter of Samuel Blowers and Lucy Sweet.  It is suspected that Samuel is buried in that cemetery under
one of the field stones as he lived with his daughter Electra in his old age

    Sylvenus SWEET
    died Dec. 4, 1867
    ae 75 years 

    Mary, wife of Sylvenus SWEET
    died June 19, 1857 
    ae 78 yrs. 3 mo. & 10 days 

    Charles PORTER
    died Aug. 17,1870
    ae 67 yrs.


    Soloma, wife of C. PORTER
    died Mar. 3, 1874       
    ae 74 yrs.       
            

NOTE: (by Helen B. Fyvie, November 1960) Soloma Porter who died Mar. 3, 1874 was the
daughter of William Gifford. William Gifford was the son of the Revolutionary War soldier,
John Gifford of Albany Co. and his wife Sarah.
