Groff Ice Company
Albert Groff
Albert Groff was born 1826, the son of Eliphalet Groff (1826-1889) and Martha Conklin. Eliphalet was a lumberman and one of the first settlers in Hope, Hamilton Co. After Albert married Carrie Carpenter he came to Gloversville and set-up his own business, Groff Ice Company. It was located on Franklin Street. His son Fred Groff worked for him and inherited the company after Albert died in 1940.
