Major Harold R. Seykota

Veteran of World War II

The following was kindly sent in by Marcia Buffet.

Major Harold R. Seykota was raised in the Gloversville area. His brother
Edward (born 1917) was a 1934 graduate of Gloversville High School.

The picture is of Harold (on the right)
and his friend.

Harold graduated
from MIT, served in Egypt, Holland and various others places and made a
career of the Army.

Examples of "V" (victory) mail
It was a service the government provided which served two purposes.
It saved space (the actual size of the letters are 3" x 4"),
and the government could readily censor it.

The "V" (victory) mail was sent to Mrs. William Robbins when he was stationed in Paris.
