This picture above was submitted by David Perry. 

David's great grandfather, was Oliver H. Perry, who enlisted in Johnstown, N.Y. on August 28, 1862.  He was discharged on October 9, 1864.

Oliver later died in Alexandria Bay, NY on March 1, 1921.

Oliver's brother, Samuel H. Perry, also enlisted in the 153rd on August 28, 1862, the same day, in Johnstown.

Samuel never saw the end of the war - he was killed in action at the Battle of Cedar Creek, W. VA and died October 19, 1864.  It is presumed Samuel is buried there.
