"Catharine E. CHRISTIE   Catharine E. CHRISTIE was born in 1816.  She was married to William Elingston DE RONDE was born on 16 Dec 1817 in
Mayfield NY.  He was christened on 24 May 1818 in Mayfield Reformed Dutch, Fulton Co NY.  He died after 17 Sep 1886.Catharine signed a will on 15 March 1881 in Mayfield, Fulton Co NY. "

Last Will and Testament of Catharine De Ronde, Records of the Surrogate Court, Fulton County, Johnstown, New York, Book #11, Page 325.


In the name of God, Amen, I Catharine E. DeRonde of the town of Mayfield, Fulton County, NY being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainity of this life, do therefore make, ordain, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament: That is to say:

First. After all my lawful debts and funeral expenses are paid and discharged, including the erection of a suitable tombstone at my grave to cost not less than twnety five dollars: I give and bequeath to my husband William E. DeRonde, the use of all my real estate, whereever situated that down(er?) at the time of my death and all the rents, issues, and profits thereof for and during the term of his natural life and from and after the decease of my said husband, I give and bequeath all my said real estate to my son John M. DeRonde and to his heirs forever.

Second. I give, devise, and bequeath to my daughter Mary Emily Hall, six silver teaspoons.

Third, I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Ann Brower six silver teaspoons.

Fourth, All the rest, residue, and remainder of my household furniture and personal property I give devise and bequeath to my said two daughters Martha Ann Brower and Mary Emily Hall to be equally divided between them.  the child or children of a deceased daughter to have the share or portion which his, her, or their parent would have taken if living.

Fifth, I hereby nominate and appoint my son John M. DeRonde, the executor of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize and empower him the said John M. DeRonde to compound, compromise, and settle any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my siad estate.  I will and ordain that the executor of this my last will and testament for and towards the performance of said testament may if he think proper and fit after my death and after the death of my said husband, bargin, sell, and alien, in fee simple, all my lands, for the doing, executing, and perfect finishing whereof.  I do by these presents give to my said executor full power and authority to grant, alien, bargin, sell and convey and assure all the same lands to any person or persons and their heirs forever, in fee simple, by all and every such lawful ways and means in the law as to my said executor or to his counsel learned in the law, shall seem fit or necessary.

I Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 15th day of March 1881

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof subscribed by Catharine E. DeRonde, the testatrix named in the foregoing will in the presence of us and each if us and at the time of making such subscription , the above instrument was declared by the said testatrix to be her last will and testament and each of us at the request and in the presence of each other signed our names as witnesses thereto at the end of the will. Samuel A. Brown, residing at Mayfield N.Y. James E.Woods, residing at Mayfield NY.  


Catharine DeRonde died on 26 Jun 1884 in Kingsboro, Fulton Co NY.   Entry in Mayfield Clerk's book says:  Catharine DeRonde M. Housewife, d. Kingsboro 26 June 1884.  No other data given. Her estate was probated on 27 Sep 1886 in Fulton Co., NY.  The adminstration papers/signature include her husband William E. DeRonde, John M. DeRonde, executor, daughters Martha Ann Brower and Mary Emily Hall.   She was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville NY.

Children of Catharine E. CHRISTIE and William Elingston DE RONDE were:
i. Martha A DE RONDE.
ii. Mary Emily DE RONDE.
iii. John Marcus DE RONDE.
