Submitted by Jeanne Galway, who writes: "These P. T. A. Meetings were kept in a note book which I found in my parents home after they were deceased. It is a "Spiral Composition Book", with a price of Fifteen cents (.15) stamped on the front.
Many people in the community became members to show their support of the P. T. A. Some members no longer had children attending the school, still they took an active part to help the P. T. A. acquire their goals.

September 1947
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened by saying of the "Parents -Teachers Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved.
The years program was read and discussed. Plans were made for a Harvest Sale to be held on September 27th.
Dues were collected.
October 1947
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened with the saying of "The Lord's Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved.
A Halloween Party was planned for the children to be followed by a dance. A committee was appointed for the Harvest Supper. Plans were made for a White Elephant Sale.
Mrs. Conglin was Guest Speaker, she spoke on the subject "How Today's Children Will Face Tomorrows Challenges".
November 1947
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President.
The Treasurers report was read and approved.
A discussion was held regarding the Christmas Program for the children. A grab bag was planned for the members of the P. T. A. to be held at the meeting.
A sewing project was organized for the young girls of the District, to be held at West Bush School every other Monday, with Christina Bartlett and Margaret McLain as instructors.
December 1947
In December a meeting was not held, rather a social hour was enjoyed by the members.
January 1948
No meeting was held
February 1948
The regular meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President, Mrs. Marion Edel.
The Secretary and Treasurer's reports were approved.
Mrs. Hurd gave a report on the dance. There wasn't any substantial loss.
A new Secretary, Eleanor Walters was elected.
The President talked about buying books for the children in both rooms.
It was decided to give $5.00 to each room. The committee was chosen by the President to plan a Family Fun Night; Mrs. Stella Hurd, Mrs. Millicent Vosburgh, Miss Jennie Yuckniewicz, & Mrs. Marion Edel.
At the close of the meeting refreshments were served.
March 1948
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened by the saying of the "Lord's Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved.
It was decided to take the children to the Lake for the June picnic.
There will be a School Program some time in April. A Food Sale will be held on the 24th of April.
April 1948
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened with the Lord's Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved. Officers are the same as last year:
President - Mrs. Marion Edel
Secretary - Miss Eleanor Walters
Treasurer - Mrs. Christina Bartlett
Press Reporter - Mrs. Millicent VosburghThe Officers for next year will be installed at the June Meeting.
They decided to order jello and pay half to have the piano tuned.
Mrs. Catherine Costello was Guest Speaker. She talked about reading habits of children. (Mrs. Costello was affiliated with the Gloversville Public Library.)
May 1948
The meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened with the "Lord's Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved.
They decided to give the children three (3) tickets (for rides). They decided to entertain the children at a picnic at Pine Lake, on June 26th. The committee named to complete the details for the affair are: Mrs. Marion Edel, Miss Eleanor Walters and Miss Jennie Yuckniewicz.
They decided to have a dance on May 21st. The committee named are: Lara Smullen and Mrs. Vosburgh.
Stella Hurd read the criticisms about meetings that were held.
A discussion was held on the subject "Meeting Tomorrows Challenges".
The meeting was adjourned.
June 1948
The regular meeting of the West Bush P. T. A. was called to order by the President and opened with the "Lord's Prayer".
The Treasurer's report was read and approved.
New Business:
They decided to take the children to Caroga Lake and to take a bus for Eighteen Dollars and Forty cents ($18.40). Also to give the committee on the picnic $5.00. Eleanor Walters gave a report on the "By-Laws.The meeting as adjourned.
After the meeting, the installation of officers by Luella Mc Lain and "America the Beautiful" was sang.
Note: Up until the year of 1948, the "End of the Year Picnic" had been held on the property of Grace and Eugene Ward. This property was near the school. Games were played and contest such as Tug of War and Three Legged Race plus a number of other competitions between boys and girls or class against class were enjoyed by not only the children. Some adults joined in. Prizes were awarded to winning teams or individuals depending on the contest. A trip to Caroga Lake was a rare occasion for most of the children, especially by bus.
